Painting Pottery

Yesterday I went to Art Blooms which is down the street from Gardner-Webb to paint pottery. It was really fun and I look forward to going back again. I painted a big mug. I will probably use it for a bowl because it is so big. I enjoyed painting and spending time with my RA/GRD staff. We went around three thirty and we were there almost an hour and a half. I did a bubble texture on the inside. Paint and dish detergent are mixed in a bowl where you can blow bubbles and transfer them over with a spoon to the pottery and when the bubbles pop they give a splatter look on the pottery. Pottery was really fun and I would definitely go back.

Deaf Journal

So I am officially done with deaf events for the semester. I have traveled to South Park Mall, North Lake Mall, Kate’s Skate and other places around Gardner-Webb for deaf events. I didn’t get all of my hours but I was pretty close to being finished. I think I had around 13 hours out of 15 so I will probably make a pretty good grade on the journal. Also I had to write a paragraph about each deaf event in the journal. I did almost all of these Tuesday night. Overall I enjoyed the deaf events and I know they will pick up again next year.

So I didn’t know I was this far behind on blogs but I guess I am haha. I had been doing three a week but I guess I have slacked off. Now I have the privilege of catching up on them. Now I have to think of multiple topics and write/type about them on word press. I do not mind blogging but I wish I would of did more of it throughout the semester instead of right now. But oh well I will get over it. It is hard to think of topics to write about but they will eventually come to me.

The joys of high school

So you hear the saying “oh how I want High School to be finished!” and then you probably hear the saying “oh you will miss it once your out.” Well the second sentence is right. College is so much harder and a lot more work. I miss my High School, West Caldwell High School, and wish I could still be there. I knew that once I graduated H.S. that I was one step closer the being pushed into the real world so I wish I was still in HS where I could go out on the weekends and weekday nights to have fun and not have to worry about homework. I know HS has come and past and I know now its off to the real world.

So I mentioned earlier that my friend is transferring. We, as her friends, wanted to do something for her so I decided that I would make a video of all the fun times that the group of friends have shared together. I finished the video yesterday using imovie and am now burning the DVD’s in idvd. I have to burn around 15 DVD’s because she has lots of friends. I invited all of her friends over to watch the video tonight at eight in her room. The video and us coming is a surprise so I hope she enjoys it.

So I found out about a month ago that my best friend at Gardner-Webb is transferring. She is moving to Lenoir-Rhyne. I am really sad that she is leaving but I do wish her the best of luck there. She did not like the nursing program at GW and decided that LR is where she needed to be. I am kinda glad she chose LR because that is only around 25 min. from my house. She wants me to let her know every time I go home so she can come see me or I can go see her. So there are ups and downs of her transferring.

KFC

So KFC has a new entree called the double-down chicken sandwich. The chicken is called a sandwich but had no bun. Instead of the bun it has two boneless chicken breast with cheese, bacon, and some kind of sauce in the middle. I think they should call it the double calorie sandwich. Or maybe they should call it the double fat sandwich. KFC does offer the option of the grilled breast but I am sure that it is still over 500 calories. What will they think of next?

Almost Over

So I am sitting in the last class of the semester. I am excited that classes are over but I am not excited that I have exams. I need to start studying now but I am not. I have no plans for tomorrow (reading day) so I will start studying for my exams. I am worried about 2 of my exams so I need to start studying now. I found a website on tips to study better that will help me out. So now it’s study study study from now until Wednesday.

End of the Year Blast

So tonight we had our last blast for Nanney and Campus house. It went really well and we had lots of fun. We gave away prizes such as a Subway gift card, Pizza Hut gift card, itunes giftcards and walmart cards. We had subway to eat. The residents liked that really well. We had 21 prizes to give out which was quite a lot. We played fun games to see who won the prizes. I was hoping there would be prizes left so I would get some put there was not. The three grand prizes was 40 dollar wal-mart cards. Overall we had a great time and the party was a great way to wrap the year up.

Weekend…but not really a break

So I still have lot of work to do. I have a paper due next week and a presentation to do. My presentation is on a famous deaf person. I am going home on Sunday to work on a project that I have also. I am super tired and really need a break but I don’t think that is going to happen. I did go the the movies today to see “Why did I get married too.” It was good but that may be the only break I get this weekend. Tomorrow I have an interview for a job that I am hoping to have next year. Saturday night I have rounds as an RA. I absolutely hate those but every RA has to have their turn. Sunday morning I am driving home to work on my project so my weekend is packed. But thank God it’s almost over!
